What do you mean with three subdevices?. Has it got more features apart from 
digital I/O (counters and timers included)?. Can it do analog input or 
output?. If not, I think it has only one subdevice from Comedi's point of 
view. In any case, the driver may not support those other subdevices/features.

If it's just a digital I/O card, I think Comedi commands don't make sense. 
Again, in any case, depends on what the driver supports.
