FIFO overflow error?

Hi All,

For streaming analog input (I'm using the ni_pcimio driver with a NI
e-series card), what happens if the DAQ-card FIFO overflows (for example
if some other device hogs the IRQs)? Does comedi report an error? Anyone
else ever have problems with or worry about FIFO overflows?

In fact I've never see such an error using comedi. I'm test a UEI card
(www.ueidaq.com) and I am getting lots of FIFO overflows at sampling
rates of <300 kS/s. Using Comedi + NI e-series card I have no such
problems but I'm not sure if the Comedi drivers would report the error
if it did occur. (it's a 1k FIFO on both cards and I'musing DMA on
both).

Hope someone can comment on this.
