Wait, so you already compiled the modules?  Chances are they were compiled
for another kernel and your 'kernel compile illegal messages' are really
unresolved symbols.  Recompile comedi against that specific redhat kernel
(2.4.18-5.58) .. and I think your problems will disappear.
