-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Now that we have two instances of binary firmware programs (daqboard2000_fpga.h and me2600_fw.h) included in the comedi package, maybe now is a good time to bring up GPL issues. It seems to me this code needs to be removed from comedi proper, as we cannot fulfill the GPL with these programs included. We certainly can't provide the source code for them should someone request it as we have neither the right to do so or even access to it. comedi_config already supports piping in arbitrary firmware code so it seems to me the easiest thing would be to rip out the firmware code and make it available for download seperately in some kind of non-free package (the me2600_fw.h file at least gives permission to do this, I'm not sure what the status of daqboard2000_fpga.h is). - -- Frank -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE937X25vihyNWuA4URAhq/AJ0bCgVILld9HcWBXlK1yMGXCQ6QAgCg35/v ZKQI+dS/nFWaaeN2WlXohRQ= =6ZT+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
