Hi Dylan, I have a NI_PCI_MIO_16E_4 and also had troubles with the external trigger. Starting analog output with an external trigger did NOT work when I connected the trigger to PFI0/TRIG1. I got it working when I connected it to PFI1. Don't ask me why...
