That's right, comedi does work with kernel 2.4.20 but not with redhat
kernel.
Thanks for your help.

Anyway, compiling comedilib with gcc 3.2.2 on redhat 9 release seems
buggy. unreferenced function errors have been reported. Does anyone have
an idea on this?

Hm i'm using comedi 0.7.66 with kernel 2.4.20 under rh8 and it works for
me. I've to say that I've exchanged the rh 2.4.18-4 kernel against an
ordirnary www.kernel.org 2.4.20 kernel without rh adoption and removed
everything which i do not need on my computer :)
