Can't use digital i/o port b on Data Translation DT3004

Has anyone had problems accessing the second port of digital i/o on DT
boards. The DT3004 has 2 ports of four bits each. The user manual refers
to them as port a and b.Port a's pins are 24,22,20,18 and port b's are
23,21,19,17. I can configure port a for output by accessing subdevice 2
channells 0-3, but can not access port b on chans 4-7. Are they numbered
differently. Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
