I finally found some time to continue with it. Klass told me: Klaas Gadeyne wrote: >please have a look at this thread (and related stuff in comedi cvs code) > ><https://cvs.comedi.org/pipermail/comedi/2003-November/005310.html> > > I still confused. What should I do? 1) Create a 8253/4 specific stuff. 2) Try to adapt thing to the way they are done in another driver. 3) Try to implement what counter-spec says. I taked a look at the ni_mio_common.c driver and it seems to be quite complete but uses its own commands, not the mechanism explained in counter-spec. Should I do the same trying to use the same GPCT_* constants and defining new ones for 8254? I canīt find any explanation of what the GPCT_SIMPLE_EVENT, GPCT_SINGLE_PERIOD, GPCT_SINGLE_PW, GPCT_CONT_PULSE_OUT and GPCT_SINGLE_PULSE_OUT mean. So I donīt know if any of them map to the 6 modes available in the 8253/4 device. SET -- Salvador Eduardo Tropea (SET).
