I can't get the compiled 2.6.5 kernel to boot.  Maybe you've seen this
before:

  VFS: Cannot open rot device "303"of unknown-block(3,3)
  Please append corret "root=" boot option
  Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(3,3)

I tracked this error message to a couple sites and made the changes
suggested to my kernel, without luck.  I didn't have a working 2.6.5
.config to start with, though - a fresh Debian Woody install doesn't have a
2.6 kernel.  I running on a fairly generic Celeron/Inter865GX system
(IceCube).
