Hi Loren, I'm glad you brought this topic up. I have a few clients that want me to deliver apps written in LabVIEW. Some of them are willing to spend the money to have code that can be read and modified by non- programming engineers and scientists. However, the smaller companies or start-ups just can't afford the upfront expense of LV. A few months ago I did a thorough search for open source projects that provided a data flow oriented development environment. Here are a few that I found: FlowDesigner http://flowdesigner.sourceforge.net/ deltaFSD http://deltafsd.sourceforge.net/ Scicos (Scilab toolbox) http://www.scicos.org/ I think the most mature package is FlowDesigner. Reminds me of Agilent VEE but FD can generate source code. I talked to the author about adding Comedi support. He was very interested but he didn't have time. I wouldn't mind doing it but I would do a terrible job. It would be nice to tack on a GUI development interface (similar to LabVIEW) but I'm not sure how difficult that would be. -kevin
