Jack,
NI does not fund Comedi development. In 2001 I worked on DMA and counters
for E Series boards. I also wrote some LabVIEW VIs which called Comedi.
They just wrapped the Comedilib calls. They have not been maintained and I
am unable to find them on the NI external web site. If you would like, I
can search around and see if I can find them. They were pretty simple
though. I think some other people have also written similar LabVIEW
wrappers for Comedi.
On another topic, the M Series boards recently announced use a different
register map than E Series boards, and would require new register level
documentation. We haven't written that documentation yet, but if we do it
will probably be as part of MH DDK on the NI website.

I believe National Instruments is partly funding the Comedi development for
the Linux version of Labview. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't
know
much about this, this is just what I heard (indirectly) from NI. Does
anyone
else have any information about this?
