Hello, I'm looking for a multifunction DAQ card for a laptop computer with at least 16/8+ SE/DI analog input channels, 500+ kHz total throughput, two or more analog outputs and some number of DIO, timer, etc ports. In numerous online searches, I've only found two suitable options, - NI DAQCard 6062E - Data Translations USB DT 9834 I've used the 6062 in the past and was dissapointed by its performance. I was rarely able to get throughput numbers above ~230 kHz for data collection times above a few seconds. I was never able to determine if the problem was driver related, computer related (Compaq Presario 2700T, 1.2 Ghz P3 Mobile M, 512 MB RAM) or the DAQCard itself (my particular card or the whole line). I like the specs on the DT 9834 but it has no linux support. I spoke with a guy at DATX and he promised to try to get approval to send me a DDK. If I get that I may purchase the card and TRY to write a comedi compatible driver myself. If I can't get the DDK, then the DATX option is out. Questions: 1) Does anyone know of a different card that meets my requirements that is already or nearly supported by comedy? 2) Has anyone had better luck with the NI DAQCard 6062E? 3) What's the status of comedi's USB 2 and Firewire support? (I've been drooling over the NI DAQPad 70XXE) Again, I need a card for a notebook with CardBus, USB 2.0 and Firwire ports. I'm willing to take a crack at writing the device driver myself if the company provides adequate documentation. I need a solution in the immediate future since I have a number of experiments to run requiring multi-channel, high bandwidth data collection. Thanks in advance for any info.
