We released NI-DAQmx Base 1.3.1 for Linux, and Mac OSX recently. It is a
free download. It supports ESeries MIO boards, the USB-9215 and 9211 and a
few other pieces of hardware. It doesn't support MSeries yet, but give it
some time. DAQmx Base has been tested with GCC 3.3.1, 3.2, 2.95 and also
LabVIEW 7.0 and 7.1. Almost all of the source code is available in
LabVIEW, all the way down to the register accesses using MHDDK. This can
be useful if you are developing a driver for HW supported by DAQmx Base.
Aside from a standalone driver though, DAQmx Base should be a reliable RLP
resource for developers writing custom DAQ drivers.
