Re: Preliminary Register-Level Documentation for NI M Series

RLP documentation and MHDDK support for the NI 6143 is not currently
available. The biggest issue is that the memory controller on the board is
very complicated to program. In general, we provide RLP documentation and
examples based on customer demand. So far, we have not had a lot of
requests for the NI-6143. I'll reply off list to get more information on
your application.

A Comedi interface to the MHDDK is an interesting idea. I'm curious how
many people would use such an interface.

Hi Malcolm,

Thanks for an update.
We would like to use a set of NI PCI-6143 A/D cards under Linux Fedora
Core 3 (2.6.x kernel) in a real-time data acquistion/processing
project we have just started.

Some questions:
1. Does the MHDDK kit support the S series NI PCI-6143 A/D cards, if
             not when will it ?
2. Is register map documentation available for this card so that we
could implement a driver for it ?
3. Is there any plans to produce a Comedi interface layer to the MHDDK ?
This would allow all the NI cards supported by the MHDDK to
be supported under Linux using Comedi ?

Cheers

Terry
