it's all aboute patience : first time ever that I was able to solve something by trial and error and acutally on my own :) .... this thingy just needs a proper configure with: ./configure --with-linuxconf=/etc Then it compiles flawlessly .... To make the burdon of guilt a little lighter, I must confess that I should have read the output of ./configure --help more carefully, but I was hindered by the fact, that most of the manuals talk about ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc at least if you are configuring comedilib. In the comedi - directory itself the option is called --with-linuxconf . Sigh ..... maybe someone might be so kind to equalize this configure-option-mix .... anyway .... thanks to all .... things begin to make fun cheers nico Ups .... one more thing to mention : the recommanded depmod -a still responds with: depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.27-adeos/comedi/addi_common.o This is not really important to me, cause I want to use the s626, but I'm still curious ..... > ################## > In file included from ../../../include/linux/comedidev.h:395, > from addi_common.c:65: > ../../../include/linux/comedi_rt.h:42:18: rtai.h: No such file or > directory > ##################
