I think the INSTALL file is a little out of date, and so is your

 libcomedi.so should do, except that it doesn't appear anywhere neither in
/usr/lib nor in any directory of the comedi.
Should I have specified a location when installing maybe?
I downloaded comedilib-0.7.22 if this helps
