Handshaking on comedi?

I am interesting in trying to write a DIO driver to do some minimal 
handshaking data transfer. Are there any comedi drivers that might serve as a 
model for this?

I have searched the comedi documentation & found no mention of this except 
with reference to the NI PCI-DIO-32HS, where the docs say handshaking is not 
supported by the comedi driver (although it is supported by the PCI-DIO-32HS 
hardware).
