I have used a USB-DUX to create a temperature feedback controller, using the comedi python module. It can be used to log temperatures, I have done it. I did not need great precision or accuracy. I just used the temperature sensor (LM35) recommended on the web site http://www.linux-usb-daq.co.uk/howto2/temperature/. This was good enough for me. Speak with Bernd if you need to know more.
