The dio doesn't work at all for M series boards yet.  It shouldn't be hard 
to get working though.  Steven Hartmann sent me a version of the driver 
that is supposed to have working static dio for m-series a few months ago, 
but I haven't gotten around to converting it to a patch against cvs.
