According to the CVS log, the last change to the file (revision 1.15) 
was on 2006-08-31.

Maybe the recent changes to the file require GNU Bison.  Try installing 
that and rerunning ./configure.  (I'm not familiar enough with yacc or 
its variants to tell if this is the problem.)
