Problem with counter, ni pci 6229

Hi, 

We have a NI PCI-6229 and are trying to read the value of a counter
using modified example code for a NI PCI-6035. We keep getting 0 using
the function comedi_data_read(...).
Do you have any example code (in C) that would perform this operation ?
or any other helpful documentation of the driver ?
