Hi, I am experiencing complete system freezes on a new computer - won't even acknowledge pings - and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. This seems to be a general problem, but using comedi drivers increases the frequency dramatically. Also, tvtime, in conjunction with my app, kills it 100% of the time within 30 s - xawtv works fine. I have found nothing that seems relevant logged in /var/log/kern.log, but I'm pretty much a newbie and wouldn't necessarily know what to look for. All of these apps work just fine on an older P2 with a 2.6.17 kernel (rtai v. 3.4), but I can't get the older kernel to recognize my SATA2 disc on the new machine. Equipment: Dell Precision 390, P4 Dell Bios 2.1.2, 2.0.8 Kernel 2.6.19, patched with RTAI v. 3.5 (freezes happen even without rtai modules installed) Debian Etch, or Sarge (Kenshi Muto backported kernel), or Ubuntu 6.10 ni_pcimio Thanks, John John F.
