Hi, here at the EEA departement, University of Nice (France), we have recently bought a USBDUX. While trying to install it on a Ubuntu Feisty machine, I'm having some problems: * I've installed the packages for feisty that can be found here, http://www.linux-usb-daq.co.uk/ubuntu/. * After having installed them I rebooted and tried to load the "comedi" module. * The system responded that it couldn't find them. * I did a "depmod -a". * The system was now able to find the modules. * I did a "modprobe comedi" and tried to connect the card, that didn't work. dmesg said: /* [ 922.228000] usb 3-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 41 [ 922.748000] usb 3-3: device not accepting address 41, error -71 [ 922.860000] usb 3-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 42 [ 922.992000] usb 3-3: device descriptor read/all, error -71 [ 923.108000] usb 3-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 43 [ 923.128000] usb 3-3: device descriptor read/all, error -71 [ 923.244000] usb 3-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 44 [ 923.264000] usb 3-3: device descriptor read/8, error -71 [ 923.384000] usb 3-3: device descriptor read/8, error -71 [ 994.964000] usb 3-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 45 [ 995.076000] usb 3-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 995.292000] usb 3-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 995.508000] usb 3-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 46 [ 995.620000] usb 3-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 995.836000] usb 3-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71 [ 996.052000] usb 3-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 47 [ 996.460000] usb 3-2: device not accepting address 47, error -71 [ 996.572000] usb 3-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 48 [ 996.796000] usb 3-2: device descriptor read/8, error -71 [ 996.916000] usb 3-2: device descriptor read/8, error -71 */ * I then did a "modprobe usbdux", nothing happened. * The I unplugged and re-plugged the card. * Still doesn't work: I, still, get the message above. Where/What am I doing wrong? Best Regards, andrea abelli PS: I've tested 2 usb cables. With the other one it doesn't spawn any error and says: "[ 956.216000] usb 3-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4"
