Dear All, I'm here again with very basic questions. I have Ubuntu 2.6.15 and gcc 4.0.1 I'm trying to set the environment variables needed by "configure" in the "comedi" folder to let him see my gcc: I have found CC, CFLAGS, CFLAGS and those for the makefile too. My configure exits telling that there is no cc or gcc compiler at lines 2451 and following. Is there a standard procedure or recipe to set the variables to make him happy? I thought that either in gcc or in comedi environment/packages I could have found something like that, but nothing. I have tried different choices of PATH and alias using CC, making gcc equal to gcc-4.0 (my version), under root and username shells with different .profile, but no way, configure always complain he cannot find a valid compiler. Is there a way out? thanks andrea
