That way, at least, the driver will inform the application of the right range settings depending on how the board is physically jumpered (assuming the devconfig options were correct). I wanted to avoid doing this since really I *thought* it might be a drag for users to have to set devconfig options.. but maybe I can just have reasonable defaults for people that want no-hassles...
