Hi all, I've submitted this problem to the RTAI list but it concerns Comedi as well. I've not been able to get RTAI, video4linux, and comedi all working at the same time (i.e. pick 2). I have a bt8x8 framegrabber supported by video4linux, in kernel 2.4.20 (red hat 9 + previous version of rtai + comedi stable) and 2.6.8.1 (ubuntu 5.04 + latest rtai and comedi stable). In Red hat/kernel 2.4: When the framegrabber is installed, I can load the RTAI modules into the kernel successfully. However when I attempt to load the comedi drivers, the system immediately freezes/reboots. In Ubuntu/kernel 2.6: When the framegrabber is installed, I cannot load the RTAI modules, when I do, the system immediately reboots. If I just remove the framegrabber, the 2.6 kernel loads RTAI and Comedi just fine. I can also use the framegrabber with RTAI in kernel 2.4, however I cannot use the data acquisition hardware. Anyone have any idea what is going on, and can help me debug this issue? I fear that I'll have to use two networked computers for this robotic task (one computer streams video to the other with the data acquisition).
