KDevelop: Problem with non standard library path during Run Configure

I am using KDevelop on a 64-bit system.  The KDE libraries are in
/usr/lib64 instead of the usual /usr/lib.  When I execute Build->Run
Configure, it checks for the Qt libraries in the correct library since
QTDIR is set, but I get an error when it checks for the KDE libraries
since it is looking in  /usr/lib.  I have tried setting different
environment variables and changing project options, but nothing has
worked.  Does anyone know how to change where KDevelop is looking for
the KDE libraries during Run Configure?
