Timing is the difficult part.  If you have an RTAI or RTLinux/GNU 
enabled kernel, you might be able to do it using the 'comedi_rt_timer' 
driver, but in the words of the provided documentation:

| Since the timing is all done in software, sampling jitter is much
| higher than with a device that has an on-board timer, and maximum
| sample rate is much lower.
