comedi 0.7.70 on CentOS 3.6

I can't figure out how to get by this problem:
I have the "stock" kernal-source, kernal-unsupported, kernal-hugemem,
and kernal-smp RPM packages loaded. I'm using a Computerboards DAS-1000,
and the driver I need is cb_pcidas. I get through the configure make
make install routine just fine with no errors, but when I try depmod -a
I get the following:

Everything I've found to read suggests that it should work by now...

Please give me a hint as to where I might find the route problem here.
