mailing list

I'm thinking of moving the comedi mailing list to google groups.  The 
mailing list is currently running on quite an old version of mailman, and 
has a couple tens of thousand of emails (mostly spam) sitting in its 
moderation queue.  Does anyone have any opinions about this, or have any 
experience with lists hosted by google groups?

By the way, there is also a "google code" hosting service, which provides 
svn, wiki, etc.
