I am currently doing a small scope process monitoring application (6 analog input points and 6 digital input points) at two sites (not networked) using a multifunction board by Intelligent Instrumentation and their Labview-like WIndows program called Visual Designer for screen development/viewing. The Windows environment has proven somewhat unstable for 24/7 operation in this manner. The vendor does not have a Linux version of software nor PCI analog/digital I/O cards Can someone point me toward reasonably priced Linux alternatives (both hardware and software) and any recommendations?
